Reading Coach

 Mrs. Sharp, Reading Coach

Mrs. Sharp graduated cum laude from Catawba College with a Bachelor's degree in political science, pre-law.  She also studied as a Rotary Foundation Scholar at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Through her volunteerism in the special needs community and as a literacy tutor with AmeriCorps, Mrs. Sharp was inspired to pursue teaching.  She graduated in 2021 from Western Governors University with a Masters of Arts in Teaching Elementary degree.  She taught third grade here at Varennes Elementary for five years.  In that time, she has been honored as the Varennes Rookie Teacher of the Year and received the ASD5 Teacher Forum Excellence in Leadership award in 2022.

Mrs. Sharp has been married to Dan for 23 years and together they have two wonderful children, John, a senior at Clemson University, and Elizabeth, a junior at Anderson University. They’ve recently adopted from PAWS, a puppy, Luna, who completes their family.  In her free time, Mrs. Sharp is an avid reader, enjoys spending time with her family, bird-watching, hiking, knitting, and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mrs. Sharp says, “I love being part of our Varennes RAM Fam and look forward to sharing my passion for literacy and my commitment to every student’s growth and success as Reading Coach.”
